Job summary

A leading infrastructure firm is hiring a Truck and Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment in Liard River, BC. The ideal candidate has a Journeyperson certification or is a registered Apprentice, with a strong understanding of maintenance procedures and safety policies. Work Conditions
  • Work is based in Liard River BC, with travel to field operations
  • Preference may be given to local applicants due to the nature of the work
  • Camp provided for non local candidates
  • As LHL respond to changing weather conditions, some on call duties may be required

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair of generators, truck and trailers, construction and maintenance equipment such as plow/sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear
  • Follows manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures
  • Engages and participates in Ledcor safety policies and procedures
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Truck and Trailer Technician (On-Road & Off-Road) or registered Apprentice with a recognized provincial authority
  • Experience with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset
  • CVIP license is an asset
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to provide a 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Strong ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including those with sketches and diagrams
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Compensation

$33.00 - $59.00 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
