Position overview

Paragon Security is seeking highly motivated individuals for Security Dispatch Operator positions in retail/office tower buildings located in Downtown Toronto. Hours are all shifts (days, afternoons, nights and rotational).

Details
  • Position: Full Time, Permanent – Security Dispatch Operator
  • Site Type: Commercial – Corporate Towers
  • Location: Toronto, Downtown
  • Schedule: Days/Afternoons/Nights or Swing
  • Hours: 40-44 hours per week
  • Payrate: $20.65/hour
Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of SOC Experience
  • Open availability: days/afternoons/nights, 7 days a week
  • Educational background in Law enforcement, Police Foundations, Security and Investigations, Criminology, or related subjects is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learning skills to learn various software and programs per site requirements (intermediate computer skills)
  • High attention to detail and observational awareness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; ability to work productively in a team
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge of security technology (CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Intrusion, Incident Management, and other security systems)
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal security regulations
Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure sufficient staff respond to high-risk incidents and emergencies
  • Conduct random checks on radio and CCTV to verify staff post coverage
  • Enforce property standards and rules in a reasonable manner
  • Monitor compliance with patrol schedules
  • Provide clear and concise communication to security staff
  • Record information in detailed and factual logs
  • De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel when needed
  • Dispatch staff to calls for service and monitor situations via CCTV
  • Maintain the Communication and Dispatch Log
  • Have Emergency Response Checklists and Action Plans readily available
  • Ensure CCTV layouts are visible and SOC equipment remains in designated areas
