Requirements management: Translate customer and internal train-level requirements into detailed subsystem designs. This includes defining functional and performance specifications.
Supplier management: Write technical purchasing specifications and manage the technical relationship with external suppliers of sub-system components, ensuring they meet Alstom's quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.
Interface management: Lead the integration of the train subsystems, managing both mechanical and electrical interfaces. This involves coordinating with other engineering teams for consistency across all system specifications.
Validation and verification (V&V): Supervise the validation of the subsystem at both the supplier and train levels. This includes conducting design reviews, performing tests, and ensuring the final integrated system meets performance and safety standards.
Issue resolution: Drive the resolution of technical issues related to the subsystems that arise during design, production, and in-service operation.
Documentation and configuration: Prepare and maintain all necessary engineering documentation, such as interface control documents and specifications. Manage change control and product configuration throughout the project lifecycle.
Safety and reliability: Ensure the subsystem's safety and dependability requirements are met. This can involve conducting Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and supporting safety analyses with the RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) team.
Lifecycle support: Provide technical support for the subsystem throughout the vehicle's lifecycle, including support for sourcing, production, and maintenance.
