They are responsible for general outdoor maintenance, including (but not limited to) sign/fence repairs, cleaning, painting, as well as the summer wastewater treatment program. They are also responsible for general construction, landscaping and reclamation as required. The Trail Crew are responsible for using various types of heavy machinery and tools safely.The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse mountain weather conditions.This is a full-time summer seasonal role (mid May to mid October), 4/7 days a week, 10-hr days, 7:00am – 5:30pmAlberta Employment Standards regarding a ninety-day probationary period applies.Requirements:Must be 18 years or olderClass 5 Alberta driver’s licence (3 years experience preferred)Must produce clean Alberta driving abstractMust possess an enthusiastic and positive attitudeMust be able to lift 50lbs and at times repetitivelyMust enjoy working outdoors with a team and by themselvesAbility to be a great environmental steward to Jasper National ParkPhysically FitAttributes:Professional deportment with excellent interpersonal skillsCheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for sometimes highly stressful situationsStrong team member able to take directionTrustworthy and able to work unsupervisedMotivated and observant; able to perceive needed tasks and complete them without directionSelf-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and trainingAble to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solveQualifications:Ski Industry experience, experience operating chainsaws & heavy machineryPhysically fitMechanical, general construction, reclamation and general labour background (an asset)Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised when requiredExperience operating off-road (ATVs) and 4-wheel drive vehiclesCurrent Standard First Aid Certificate (16hr)Job duties/ Responsibilities:General outdoor maintenance & construction, landscaping, fence/sign repair, painting, cleaning, etcRunoff control/ditching/erosion management, roadway maintenanceOperate company highway vehicles, heavy equipment (bobcat, Posi-track, loader/backhoe, excavator, Zoom Boom) & various tools safely and as trainedWastewater treatment & lagoon cleanoutTown Run, garbage/dump runs, recyclingLogging (special projects) – felling, bucking, limbing (based on the individual’s certification level)Reclamation (special projects) – sod/topsoil salvage, replacement, seeding/fertilizeAssist contractors’ work on the mountain as requiredIdentify and address safety concerns, work safely and efficientlyGenerally assist other departments as requiredAdherence to the company’s practices and procedures as set in the ‘Trail Crew Training Manual’Understanding of/adherence to the Best Management Practices for Development at Ski Areas in Banff and Jasper National Parks of CanadaAll Marmot Basin employees will conduct themselves in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their jobSupplementary:Respect and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the ‘Corporate Policies’, ‘Employee Handbook’ and ‘Trail Crew Training Manual’Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s ‘Privacy Policy’Other detailsPay TypeHourlyJob Start DateTuesday, May 20, 2025Job End DateThursday, October 9, 2025
