Role Overview
The Trade, Education & Event Marketing Manager leads DESIGNME's professional-facing marketing efforts across trade marketing and events, while supporting the Professional Education department through high-quality educational materials. The role partners with Sales, Brand, and Professional Education teams to deliver compelling tools to the professional hair community, balancing strategic planning, execution, and people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the annual trade marketing strategy aligned with brand, sales, and product priorities.
- Own trade marketing calendars, launches, promotions, and retailer-specific initiatives.
- Partner closely with Sales and Key Account teams to support sell-through and distribution growth.
- Manage trade assets including POS, sampling, merchandising, toolkits, and retailer presentations.
- Track performance, budgets, and ROI of trade programs and optimize based on results.
- Support the Professional Education department by producing marketing and educational materials aligned with education objectives and branding.
- Manage the development of education-related assets such as presentations, manuals, digital tools, and support materials.
- Collaborate closely with the Education team to translate education needs into clear, on-brand, and effective materials.
- Ensure consistency of brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all education tools.
- Coordinate timelines, approvals, and delivery of education materials in collaboration with Creative/Marketing teams.
- Own end-to-end planning and execution of all trade shows and industry activations.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics.
- Collaborate with the creative team to create material needed for each event.
- Directly manage and mentor the Trade Marketing Coordinator, providing clear priorities, guidance, and development.
- Delegate executional tasks while maintaining strategic oversight.
- Act as the main marketing point of contact for trade and event initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Professional Education, Creative, and Operations teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in trade marketing, events, or professional marketing (beauty/professional haircare preferred).
- Experience producing marketing and educational support materials.
- Prior people management experience or strong readiness to lead a direct report.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience working cross-functionally with education and sales teams is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
