Qualifications

Birch Mountain Enterprises is looking for a Class 1 Tow/Tilt Deck operator, with manual operating experience, mine driving experience is an asset, and towing experience is required. No camp or flights provided.

Job Summary

Operating from various locations, this position involves the towing of our own equipment and safe operation of a variety of equipment including, but not limited to Single Axle Flat Tilt Deck. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates with previous hauling/towing experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operating a Tilt Deck class 1 truck.
  • Moving equipment.
  • Safely operate Tilt deck in a mining environment and within guidelines outlined in BME Driving Policies.
  • Operate equipment in a safely manner in accordance with BME and client driving requirements.
  • Notify management immediately of equipment/vehicle deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to, customer work orders, field level Hazard assessment, pre/post trip inspections, Near Miss and Hazard IDs.
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Possess a valid Minimum Class 1 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years experience (including operations of up to 18 speed manuals).
  • Previous experience operating Tilt decks, hauling/towing trailers on and off road, as well as winching.
  • Mine driving experience in an asset.
  • Load securement and transportation knowledge.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • CSTS and OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification.
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
