POSITION: Temporary SOC Patroller (Patrols, Alarm Response, Call Operator) – Corporal

LOCATION: Security Operations Centre – 737 Arlington Park Place

HOURS OF WORK: Full-time; 8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts in rotation. Availability required for days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled call‑ins.

RATE OF PAY: $20.91 per hour

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

JOB SUMMARY

To be a Security Guard, responsible to the Commissionaire SOC Supervisor for the efficient and effective day‑to‑day operation of security tasks at the SOC.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Always represent the Commissionaires and the client professionally.
  • Read, remain current with, and follow all Commissionaires policies, Terms & Conditions of Employment and all client & site SOPs/post instructions.
  • Be familiar with all site alarm systems (smoke, fire, carbon monoxide, intrusion) and associated procedures.
  • Provide information to site personnel, visitors and the general public as required.
  • Routinely interact with site personnel, visitors, contractors and the general public.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, contacting and interacting with all forms of emergency services.
  • Control the issuing and receiving of keys, access control passes, logs and registers, enforcing procedures.
  • Provide telephone and counter services.
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols; perform escort services when required.
  • Maintain a daily personal notebook, fuel levels and basic fleet maintenance documentation.
  • Record and report unusual site activity, actions taken, and official reporting.
  • Generate appropriate security and incident reports.
  • Maintain dialogue with the Site/District Supervisor and the client.
  • Perform any other required security duties as directed by the Site Supervisor/District Manager or reasonably requested by the client.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by SOC Manager or Supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Class G driver’s license with a clear 3‑year driver’s abstract.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication; calm, confident, concise and professional.
  • Ability to maintain Commissionaires and client confidentiality.
  • Proficient with proprietary programs used by the site/client.
  • Physical ability to conduct vehicle or foot patrols at site buildings and locations.
  • Independent work or team collaboration capability.
  • Completion of a vulnerable sector check if assigned to Crossing‑Guard duties.
  • Excellent computer skills, including secure networks and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Experience with online scheduling applications.
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE

Reliability – at least 5 years minimum Canadian residency.
