Job description
Technical Support Officer (Cluster/SAS/ 1-year contract)

As a Cluster Technical Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of various laboratory clusters. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting technical operations across multiple lab clusters to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Preparing lab materials and equipment for classes, workshops, and events.
  • Maintaining laboratory cleanliness and ensuring equipment is ready and in working condition.
  • Assisting lecturers with practical class demonstrations and trial runs.
  • Performing basic troubleshooting and coordinating equipment servicing or repairs.
  • Managing goods receipt, verifying delivery orders, and notifying requestors.
  • Assisting with chemical and biohazard waste disposal in collaboration with the Central Service team.
  • Participating in annual asset stock take and inventory management.
  • Supporting WSH and QEHS audits and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as lab requests and procurement of equipment and consumables.
What Are We Looking For?

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual with:

  • A Higher NITEC or Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Technology, Material Science, or related fields.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical instruments and chemistry.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexibility to support different lab clusters as needed.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting and follow up on servicing.
  • Familiarity with lab safety and compliance practices is a plus.
  • Organizational skills to manage inventory and administrative duties effectively.
  • A responsible and dependable attitude towards lab operations and support.
