Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Representative in Calgary, Alberta is responsible for maximizing the revenues for the business unit and maintain positive customer relationships. Technical Sales Representatives will solve customer problems using NOV Completion Tools products and services that will result in a profitable sale. A key component of this role will be to generate business for the Canadian Completion Tools team through sales calls to existing NOV customers as well as sourcing new business opportunities. Technical Sales Representatives will achieve sales targets and maintain expenses within the parameters of the Annual Operating Plan.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Solve customer problems using NOV Completion Tools products and services.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback on industry trends and new areas of opportunity.
  • Increase revenues for the business and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Identify new customers and develop positive relationships that will result in the sale of products and services.
  • Maintain existing customer relationships that will result in ongoing and repeat business.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations that will increase the brand awareness of NOV Completion Tools and educate customers about the products and services within our business unit.
  • Prepare business proposals, tenders or quotations for customer projects that will result in the profitable sale of products and services.
  • Prepare business plans and new product development requests to create a plan for the execution of new business opportunities.
  • Work with other NOV business units to cross sell their products that will improve the overall performance of NOV.
  • Assist operations in scheduling work as well as ensuring accurate follow up upon job completion; at times, may be required to assist operations with the coordination of installations.
  • Negotiate a mutually satisfactory resolution to client invoicing inquiries.
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery policy, health, safety and environmental requirements and all applicable local policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • 2-5 years in a sales role in an oilfield service company selling completion tools, liner systems and coiled tubing tools is required.
  • A proven track record of sales growth and a wealth of industry contacts within the operating region.
  • Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques to resolve any complications with clients that may arise.

Technical Requirements:

  • Familiar with CRM based sales and customer reporting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

HSE Requirements:

  • Office environment;
  • Sitting, typing, walking, standing;
  • HSE Orientation.
