Job description
Ideas with Intention

zag (that is right, no capital) is a full-service, marketing and advertising agency that is hell-bent on getting to know brands inside and out. We ensure we capture the perfect blend of creativity, strategy, and management to catapult brands in the right direction with ease. With us, there is always room to grow, and we are currently looking for a Technical Coordinator to do just that.

We come to work every day to solve challenges, and we lean on our teammates to do it. We all have titles, but we are not defined by them. By working together and bending our disciplines, we bring unique perspectives to the table, learn from each other, and stick the landing.

We have six guiding principles that help keep us grounded along the way:
  • Be Better. We strive for unicorn-level greatness.
  • Own It. We care about what we create.
  • Think Beyond. We outsmart challenges with creative and forward thinking.
  • Get Real. We dare to show up as ourselves.
  • Team Up. We take the carpool lane, working together to achieve the best results.
  • All In. We make it count. Every day.
Why zag?
  • We value resourceful thinkers, sharp organizers, and people who learn by doing.
  • You’ll work in a collaborative environment where digital strategy, creative development, and content execution are deeply connected.
  • You’ll be encouraged to experiment with new tools and ideas while mastering best practices across platforms.
  • There’s room to grow your technical and creative skills, build client relationships, and become a trusted expert in the digital space.
Requirements
  • Continually seek new and better ways to do things through technology and innovation, which includes but isn’t limited to AI.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Working knowledge of website launches, email platform setup, deliverability concepts, DNS records, domain verification, and authentication (e.g., hosting changes, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • Understanding of marketing funnels, performance metrics, and relevant KPIs.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate status updates clearly.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience in digital marketing, communications, or a related field will be considered an asset.
Primary Objective for this Position

The Technical Coordinator is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the technical systems that enable marketing efforts. This position emphasizes technical execution, website maintenance, analytics reporting, and platform problem‑solving. Knowledge of marketing is considered an asset, but technical aptitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are core to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

The day‑to‑day will evolve, but core duties include:

  • Perform ongoing website maintenance, including content updates and adjustments, backups, plugin updates, testing, and security updates within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to websites, forms, tracking, integrations, email services, and platform errors.
  • Use basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support content updates, fixes, tracking tag implementation, and minor functional enhancements.
  • Set up, test, and launch email campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign.
  • Create and maintain analytics and performance reports using Google Analytics and other reporting tools across websites, email campaigns, and digital channels.
  • Provide regular task status updates and proactively communicate technical risks, blockers, or dependencies.

You will also:

  • Prepare digital marketing reports and insights for internal and client use.
  • Stay current on digital platforms, tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve technical execution.
  • Identify recurring technical issues or workflow inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements.
  • Maintain clear documentation of website updates, technical fixes, platform configurations, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with creative, technology, and account teams to support accurate execution and smooth delivery.
  • Approach every project — big or small — with a calm, positive, solution‑oriented mindset.
What we offer you:
  • Competitive pay.
  • Comprehensive Dental and Health benefits.
  • Competitive vacation time, PTO days, and zag days.
  • Extracurriculars (holiday parties, summer party, Party Planning Committee, etc. – and more!).
