A public university in Saskatchewan seeks Teaching Assistants for Geography & Environmental Studies for Winter 2026. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional programs, marking assignments, and supporting course development, requiring enrollment in related fields. Ideal candidates are registered students who have previously assisted in relevant courses. This is a casual position with approximately 3-7 hours of work per week, embracing an inclusive hiring process.
Multiple TA positions are available. Duties will normally consist of: assisting with the instructional program of undergraduate courses, assisting with research on curriculum development for a course, marking assignments or tests, tutoring, and/or leading lab sections (where applicable) with associated marking, preparation and assignments. Assist in the Map Library.
Position Requirements: Students and senior majors in Geography (BA, BSc), Environmental Studies (BA), Geography & Environmental Studies (BA, BSc), Environmental Geoscience (BSc), or Bachelor of Geographic Information Science (BGISc). Preference will be given to students who have successfully taken the classes for which they are assisting or who have previous experience assisting with the class.
Eligibility: You must be a registered student and enrolled in classes for the 2026 winter term.
Under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Regulations the University of Regina is required to verify that International Students are eligible to work on campus prior to being hired. To confirm this eligibility, International Students are requested to contact UR International – Student Services to obtain a “Verification of Academic Status for the Eligibility to Work on Campus” letter that must be provided to the hiring manager prior to hiring. These letters must be updated each semester and/or as circumstances change.

Pay Grade: As per CUPE 2419.
Salary Range: As per CUPE 2419 Collective Agreement.
Status: Term.
Work Hours: Approximately 3-7 hours per week. Hours will vary and will be dependent on position and class size.
Course Modality: Term/Temporary.
Course Dates: January 19 - April 29, 2026.
Full-time/Part-time: Casual.
