Position: Temporary, 0.20 FTE Grade 11 Online Learning Foundations of Math Teacher

Location: Comox Valley

Position Details

Navigate / NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centres, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide and work on-site at a Comox Valley School.

Responsibilities

• Provide online and blended instruction for Grade 11 Math within an online learning environment.
• Maintain an online classroom in a learning management system and support assessment for learning (AFL) practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators.
• Provide tutorial support for students online and in person; adapt courses to meet student needs and I.E.P.s as required.

Qualifications

• Training certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment.
• Recent substantive experience in the design and instruction of Math at the secondary school level within an online learning environment.
• Experience in adult education and teaching Math to adult learners.
• Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system.
• Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s.
