Sushi California Japanese Restaurant is located at A-501 North Rd., Coquitlam, BC V3J 1N7. We are currently looking for permanent, full time Sushi Chefs.

Wages: CAD$28.00-37.00/hour (depending on skills and experiences)

Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)

Working hours: 30-40 hours/week

Benefits: 4% of vacation pay

Job Duties:
  • Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
  • Develop and execute seasonal or special sushi menus to attract and retain customers in collaboration with management
  • Create special house sauce and new recipes to improve tastes and qualities of the dishes
  • Maintain precise portioning, seasoning, and presentation standards
  • Prepare all types of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki, specialty rolls, chef’s specials, and specialty foods
  • Ensure health regulations and food safety policies are followed
  • Demonstrate new techniques and equipment
  • Supervise and train cook
  • Coordinate with suppliers and management to order and receive fresh, high-quality ingredients
  • Arrange repair and purchase of equipment
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
