Raytheon ELCAN is a global leader in high-precision optical systems. We have an immediate need for a Surface Treatment Production Associate to join our Surface Treatment Department weekend shift. In this role, you will play a key part in processing mechanical components through multiple finishing lines including sandblasting, anodizing, and some paint operations. You will collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Shift Details
  • Work Schedule: Sunday, Friday, Saturday (12 hours/day 7am-7pm; 36 hours/week)
  • Shift Premium: 12-hour shift premium ($2.20/hour) applies on all hours worked
  • Weekend Shift Bonus: Additional 4 hours/week paid time when working the weekend shift schedule (where applicable)
  • Break Schedule: One paid eating period of 30 minutes; two paid rest periods of 15 minutes each
  • Statutory Holiday Pay: 8 hours/day
  • Vacation: As per policy
What You Will Do
  • Ongoing compliance with Health and Safety practices (EHSS, WHMIS, Area Hazard Assessment Details, PPE, etc.)
  • Painting according to drawings
  • Plating processes including anodizing, chromate, passivate and etch
  • Abrasive blasting
  • Measure and gauge parts to ensure quality is adhered to
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within work area
  • Adhere to specifications and Work Instruction packages to ensure efficient, safe operation and product quality
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical ability to read blueprints, sketches, interpret drawings and geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of metrology equipment (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.)
  • Understanding of quality systems
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs and perform repetitive lifting of 15 lbs or less
  • Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn through study, instruction or experience
