Job summary

POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME (8:30 am – 8:30 pm or 8:30 pm – 8:30 am)

WATSONS WAY HOMES INC. is responsible for providing a safe, caring environment for youth and young adults in their care.

Position Summary

This position involves working effectively with team members to provide comprehensive care for children and youth in the home, addressing their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.

Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to guide and supervise youth and young adults in daily activities and establish routines. Assist youth in learning skills for independent living.
  • Supportively care for youth in crisis.
  • Establish positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children and families, including residential schools.
  • Physical capability to perform care duties, household tasks, and accompany youth to appointments.
  • Provide current satisfactory background checks.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license preferred; include criminal record check, adult and child abuse checks, and driver’s abstract.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification or willingness to complete training.
  • Experience with written reports, forms, logs, and MS Word.
  • Punctuality, organization, initiative, and consistency.
  • Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to child care is an asset.
