A prominent educational institution in Canada is seeking a Supervisor for their Veterinary Medical Centre. This role involves overseeing daily clinic operations, providing guidance to staff, and facilitating technical instruction for undergraduate veterinary students. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in both large and small animal clinical practice, as well as prior supervisory experience. This position offers a competitive salary range of $33.86 - 44.39 per hour and is located on campus in a full-time capacity.
The supervisor provides on-floor supervision in daily operations, functional direction and guidance to the clinic staff. This position provides supervisory support in optimizing service resources, staffing requirements, equipment, and supplies to support superior patient care. Functioning as a member of the technical team, the supervisor is responsible for arranging technical coverage. This role also assists with technical instruction and labs for undergraduate veterinary students and veterinary technology students.
This position works in a 24 hour/365 days per year animal facility with small animals such as canine, feline, avian, and some exotics and large animals such as bovine, equine, caprine, porcine, ovine and some exotics which exposes employees to the unpredictability of animals, dander, and waste. Animal handling and manipulation is a component of this role.
