Position Details
  • Pay: $65,000 - $75,000
  • Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:30 AM shift start

Position Purpose

As a Transportation Supervisor, you will support all functions of the Transportation Department, with a focus on day‑to‑day driver management. You will contribute to the management of drivers, routes, deliveries, maintenance, security, and safety to create direct contributions to the division and enhance customers’ experiences. A successful candidate will continuously build better processes, manage daily operations, and instill a culture of innovation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure application of safety, accident‑prevention standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, driver case scan percentage, and accident frequency.
  • Gather feedback from drivers to improve customer delivery experience.
  • Assist managers with overall day‑to‑day administration of transportation and delivery functions, including calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, and resolving problems.
  • Monitor vehicle safety systems (Samsara), safe usage of ramps and handcarts, and safe lifting/product‑handling practices.
  • Lead and conduct performance‑management conversations to foster departmental growth of personnel.
  • Ride with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes.
  • Complete paperwork such as evaluations, accident/injury logs, HOS logs, and other reports and records.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate department and individual performance.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls.
  • Lift, unload, and carry totes and bundles up to 30 lbs repetitively and up to 60 lbs occasionally; push up to 50 lbs; move a dolly loaded with up to 250 lbs.
  • Stand for a significant period and walk continuously on occasion.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, or reach.
  • Environment: weather, temperature, lighting, and noise.
Required Qualifications
  • Class 1 driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of logistics supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
  • Ability to manage routing and distribution, and logistic computer software.
  • Analytical and critical evaluation skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Food service/distribution experience.
  • Multi‑temp delivery/return logistics experience.
  • Systems experience (Samsara, Omnitracs, Power BI).
  • Experience in a unionized work environment.
