Job Description: Supervising Producer – On-Air Promotions (OAP)

Reports To: Head – On-Air Promotions (OAP)
Team Size: 3–4
Location: Mumbai

Role Overview

The Supervising Producer – On-Air Promotions is responsible for leading the creative development and production of on-air promos, ensuring high-quality, impactful communication for all shows and channel initiatives. This mid–senior leadership role bridges creative execution and strategic direction: managing a small creative team, delivering compelling launch/sustenance promos, and ensuring all assets align with the channel’s brand identity and viewership goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptualization and execution of promos for show launches, special events, and daily sustenance activities.
  • Translate creative briefs into strong visual ideas, scripts, and storyboards.
  • Ensure promo outputs are aligned with channel tone, programming strategy, and brand guidelines.

Team Leadership & Workflow Supervision

  • Manage and mentor a team of 3–4 promo producers.
  • Oversee daily task allocation, review creative work, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality promos.
  • Guide team members on storytelling, editing styles, messaging, and production best practices.
  • Supervise shoots for promo content when required – talent shoots, set shoots, character promos, etc.
  • Oversee editing, graphic packaging, sound design, and final output of all promos.
  • Coordinate with internal and external production resources for smooth workflow execution.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with Programming, Marketing, Research, and Scheduling teams to understand content priorities and audience insights.
  • Align promo strategies with ratings data, content performance, and channel goals.
  • Liaise with VO artists, creative agencies, and production partners for specialized inputs.

Quality & Consistency Management

  • Ensure all promos meet creative standards, brand tone, and visual identity requirements.
  • Review final cuts before submission to the Head – OAP for approval.
  • Maintain consistency in the channel’s on-air look and messaging across all assets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12-15 years of experience in broadcast promotions, OAP, or creative production.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing promo conceptualization, direction, and production work.
  • Experience supervising small-to-mid-size creative teams.
  • Capability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
  • Solid understanding of the GEC/entertainment landscape and audience behavior.
