Overview

You are a seasoned Superintendent with over 5 years of field operations experience working in multi-disciplinary large-scale commercial projects with strong knowledge in structural, mass timber and concrete scopes. You will ensure adherence to company standards for safety, scheduling, budget, quality control, and client satisfaction. You will leverage your industry expertise to achieve project goals while contributing to the organization’s long-term success.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Leads the construction execution team, or being the lead for major scopes of work on a large project
  • Oversees staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
  • Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes while ensuring that safety regulations are strictly followed
  • Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning
  • Works collaboratively with safety personnel to ensure adherence to Ledcor’s Corporate safety programs and policies
  • Ensures all projects follow Ledcor’s Construction Operations Manual and lead the development of the Project Quality Program (PQP), ensuring PEP conformance
  • Develops detailed 3 – 6 week look ahead schedules that execute the project schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development. Work with the project team to forecast the overall project schedule
  • Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Project HS&E plan and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of internal and rental equipment on projects to maximize use while on the job sites and returns equipment to storage or the rental company when no longer required
  • Participates in the hiring and managing of hourly employees as required, and maintains, approves, and submits hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes
  • Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants to ensure client needs are met and ensure future business opportunities
  • Supports and promotes Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position or similar with expertise in delivering high rise residential, mass timber, healthcare, data centers, aircraft hangars, aviation warehousing facilities, or other complex projects
  • Experienced in full cycle new build construction; design-build and healthcare construction experience is an asset
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
  • Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development
  • Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives
Working Conditions
  • Site based position in Vancouver, BC
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
Compensation

$98,400.00 - $135,300.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
