A university student organization in Hamilton, Ontario seeks a SWHAT Coordinator to oversee a volunteer service that provides safety during evening hours. Responsibilities include setting operational hours, managing volunteer shifts, promoting the service, and ensuring financial accountability. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership, public speaking, and supervisory skills along with experience in similar roles. The position offers part-time hours of 8-10 hours per week, under the auspices of the Executive Board.
As per MSU employment policies – only MSU members in good standing may be employed part‑time with the McMaster Student Union. This includes all undergraduate students at McMaster University enrolled in 18 units or more during an academic session. The Student Walk Home Attendant Team (SWHAT) is a volunteer service within the McMaster Students Union that will walk or bus users during the evening hours, 7 days a week.
The SWHAT Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the operation of SWHAT, including setting hours of operation, scheduling shifts, promoting the service, and ensuring finances are in order.
