■ STUDENT, RESEARCHER STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY

CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA

Strategic Engagement and Advocacy plays a central role in the identification, development and nurturing of strategic relationships with key external stakeholders across Canada. The department promotes the CMPA’s value proposition to external stakeholders, gathers intelligence to identify opportunities for CMPA to advocate on behalf of its members and develops mechanisms to create and support shared situational awareness of the stakeholder environment for all stakeholder engagers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Engagement and Advocacy Programs, the Strategic Engagement and Advocacy Student will complete environmental scans and literature reviews to support the team in identifying current trends and needs in the healthcare landscape to support the identification of key issues and engagement and advocacy opportunities. The incumbent will work closely with the Bilingual Health Policy Strategist to focus research and reporting on key topics.

POSITION ACTIVITIES
  • Conduct research, literature reviews, and environmental scanning on key topics related to healthcare in Canada
  • Synthesize complex research findings into topic areas to inform engagement and advocacy
  • Write concise and informative briefs on key topics
  • Collaborate with teammates to transform knowledge to Leadership
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Enrolled in an academic program with a focus on research and communication.
  • Experience reviewing peer-reviewed research and providing analysis.
  • Experience conducting environmental scans and/or literature reviews.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Experience working with Office 365 and related software.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to quality, detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of French is an asset.
POSTING DETAILS
  • Job type: This is a Temporary Full-Time position from May 2026 to August 2026.
  • This position is for an existing vacancy.
  • Salary range: Between $20.00-$26.50/hour based on level of education and previous relevant work experience.
  • Location: Fully Remote Job, working from a home-based office anywhere in the provinces of Ontario and Québec.
  • Students are defined as individuals who are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution during the year that they are employed. To be considered for a position, candidates must be enrolled in an academic program from May to August 2026.
