The Opportunity:

You’ll join a collaborative Resources Engineering group, working on a variety of industrial projects, from new builds to rehabilitation, while also supporting institutional and government clients. You’ll apply and expand your design skills on real projects, collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers, and take on responsibilities that help you build confidence and professional relationships, all within a supportive environment designed to help early‑career engineers thrive

Take on real responsibility as you design and calculate structures for buildings and industrial projects, making technical decisions and seeing your ideas come to life. Get hands‑on experience by writing technical reports, creating construction specs, and heading out for site investigations and inspections. Plus, you’ll have opportunities to travel to client sites, join project meetings, and see your work in action. All while building your skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Assist with the design and calculation of building and industrial structures, applying your foundational engineering knowledge and learning new skills
  • Make technical contributions to real projects, with guidance and mentorship from senior engineers
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to how different disciplines work together
  • Participate in design management discussions, sharing your ideas and learning from experienced professionals
  • Draft and review technical reports and construction specifications, building your communication and documentation abilities
  • Get hands‑on experience with site investigations and inspections, evaluating real‑world structures and conditions
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • More than 2 years' relevant structural engineering experience (co‑op, internship, or full‑time).
  • Working knowledge of structural design principles and engineering software (e.g., S‑Frame, Staad Pro, SAP).
  • Relevant experience in the design of concrete and steel structures in Canada.
  • EIT status or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the Province of Ontario.
