Job summary

Under the direction of the Permit Administration Services & Locate Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will review and process locate requests from Ontario One Call. The position also provides information to staff and customers while backing up and supporting other team members.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Liaise as a City representative for Storm Sewer requests from Ontario One Call.
  • Receive, process and update the locate request.
  • Assign locate package to staff that require a field inspection.
  • Close and update Ontario One Call for locate requests that don’t require field work.
  • Assist with completing all other related documents and forms.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbal and written.
  • Interacts and collaborates with other divisions and sections regarding the storm locate process and conditions in order to provide clarity.
  • Communicate with external customers (i.e. request additional information, documents and clarity) as required.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience with Infor Public Sector Enterprise System, GIS mapping systems (i.e. Esri, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of the current level of service by the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act 2012.
  • Experience with OTM Book 7 is an asset.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduation with a Technology diploma from a recognized community college in architectural, civil engineering, or construction engineering technology is preferred with a minimum 2 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, with above average abilities with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Able to read and interpret all types of municipal engineering drawings and Storm Sewer Network.
  • Possess excellent time management skills and be highly organized to ensure strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Able to manage seasonal workloads and multitask on a regular basis.
  • Possess an ability to work independently or in a group/team environment.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $33.36 - $44.48

Hours of Work: 35

Work Location: Mavis Yard: Common Building - 3185, Mavis Road, Mississauga

Work Model: This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be onsite in the office 3 days per week and allowing remote work for the remaining days. Specific in-office days may be set by the team or department to support collaboration and business needs.
