A provincial government organization is seeking an Initial Attack Fire Crew Supervisor in Burns Lake. This role involves managing fire crews during emergencies, supervising training, and preparing for wildfire seasons. At the Northwest Fire Centre, you'll join a dynamic and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to wildfire management and safety. Our team comprises Unit crews (22 people) and Initial Attack crews (4), with initial attack bases hosting between 18 and 52 members. You will collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province. The Initial Attack Fire Crew Supervisor plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans, ensuring crews are effectively mobilized in incident response. As an Initial Attack Fire Crew Supervisor, your responsibilities will shift throughout the year. In the spring, you will prepare for new staff and oversee their training. During fire season, you will ensure the team is well-supported and performing effectively in wildfire response. In the fall and winter, you will help with hiring and ramping up for the next season.

Education and Experience Requirements
* Basic First Aid is the new name for Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1, as of November 2024. The name change aligns with the CSA standards in BC.
