  • Lead the design of internal structural elements of the cell, accounting for diverse environmental and stress conditions
  • Lead design revisions / improvements to existing components to address problem areas
  • Develop functional requirements in close collaboration with members of the Cell Engineering and Systems Engineering teams
  • Define and drive necessary analysis (e.g., FEA), hands-on testing, and failure analysis of cell structural components
  • Analyze component and assembly tolerances and develop cost / manufacturing / performance / reliability trades
  • Collaborate with module design engineers to ensure seamless integration of all components
  • Collaborate with the safety and compliance teams to ensure all design decisions meet Form's safety standards
  • Guide manufacturing engineers and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high-volume production
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor’s with 8+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and high proficiency in CAD
  • Demonstrated experience in plastic component design for structural applications
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and proven mentorship abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with the definition of verification testing for structural components
  • Direct experience with high-volume manufacturing, fabrication, and prototyping techniques; experience with tight-tolerance, multi-material component design for harsh environments
  • Onsite work requirement
