This exciting role is at the very center of our Consumer Base & Retention team. We strive to nurture and grow our customer base by utilizing our internationally recognized TELUS Rewards program to incentivize customer loyalty.

As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will lead the marketing strategy and evolution of the loyalty program to increase customer value and prevent churn. The role includes a strong focus on overall business planning, including budgeting, forecasting, capital and project planning. You will lead the design of exciting new strategies and tactics which optimize the results of the program, improving customer insights and segmentation, incentive and reward design.

What you’ll do
  • You will have ownership of the financial management of the program, including managing a multi‑million dollar budget to optimize margin, churn, contra and liability considerations. You will collaborate closely with the Finance team to include TELUS Rewards in the broader TELUS budget planning process such as Strat Check, monthly/quarterly/annual budget planning and triage processes.
  • You will lead the strategic planning for the program, working across stakeholder groups and channels to plan and launch innovative new projects and processes which improve program performance. You will drive the strategy on how to segment and speak with our membership base, optimizing membership insights, reporting and go‑to‑market opportunities.
  • You will work with cross‑functional teams (such as product, pricing, base management, digital and retention teams) to create holistic growth strategies, supporting the evolution of marketing tactics to drive overall profitability and growth.
  • You will share strategic overviews, updates, and recommendations to the senior leadership team to assist with decision making and future planning activity.
  • You will own the program scorecard, setting KPI’s and working cross‑functionally across stakeholder groups to plan and execute activities to help meet our objectives.
Qualifications

What you bring

  • The ability to think critically and challenge the status quo, uncovering opportunities to optimize program performance against key performance objectives.
  • Impeccably organized with a proven ability to manage multiple streams of work and multiple stakeholders.
  • Data‑driven marketer who uses reporting, analysis, team partnerships, and continuous improvements develop and optimize programs and strategies.
  • Extensive experience in financial planning for a large budget or program, including budgeting, forecasting and business casing. The ability to be very detail oriented, while at the same time seeing how our financial performance fits into the larger picture and strategy.
  • Talent for bringing people together in a positive way, you know how to work effectively across groups, discuss opportunities, tackle problems, and motivate people to take action.
  • Recognized for your superb communication skills, you have an ability to explain complex ideas simply and translate them into creative and practical strategies.
  • English verbal and written is required for this opportunity. French language experience would be a strong asset, but not required.

Great‑to‑haves

  • 7+ years progressive experience in marketing or business management positions
  • Knowledge of the Google suite of applications, notably Slides and Sheets
  • A business undergraduate degree in Marketing or communication

Salary Range: $102,000–$152,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%
