Sr. Strategic Account Sales Manager, Wholesale

Work Mode: Remote

Location: Remote (up to 50% travel within Ontario, CAN and to the US)

Opportunity

The Senior Strategic Account Sales Manager – Wholesale role will be accountable for achieving sales and profit objectives in all plumbing categories within the specified Wholesale Distributor account(s). With full P&L responsibility this role is accountable for developing and maintaining strong and influential relationships with key customers and collaborating internally with key stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class insights and solutions that help develop and execute mutually beneficial joint business plans and deliver sustainable growth. This individual will also lead and drive engagement with internal partners in Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, E‑Commerce, etc.

Key Accountabilities
Account Planning
  • Develop comprehensive account plans to deliver all plumbing category targets & objectives, and identify opportunities to offset risk and accelerate growth within the account(s).
  • Manage the customer investment and coop budget at assigned customers in conjunction with Kohler.
  • Finance, Marketing, Revenue Management and Field Sales teams.
  • Lead the development and execution of short & long‑term customer strategic plans, including market share growth initiatives and improved customer satisfaction (NPS).
Account Relationships & Performance
  • Build influential relationships at all levels of the account to understand the customer needs and build plans to address and drive growth.
  • Lead the development and presentation of all inventory plans, new product presentations and vitality opportunities.
  • Own the rollout of new products and any resets within the categories, including proposal, SKU setup, order placement and order fulfilment in conjunction with supply chain and Field sales teams.
  • Develop consistently accurate and timely forecasts using a variety of inputs from both consumption and shipment perspectives, adopting a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Actively involve to optimize customer service levels and efficiency to help minimize total delivered cost.
  • Collaborate with all internal functions to understand and leverage customer strategies to successfully sell Kohler Canada programs and initiatives.
Skills / Requirements
  • 5-10 years of Sales, Category Management, Marketing and/or Sales Strategy experience.
  • 4-5 years of direct account management experience with Wholesale Distributors such as EMCO, Wolseley, Desco/PMF, Andrew Sheret Limited, BA Robinson and/or Marks Supply, including selling, negotiating, and leveraging insights to deliver tailored customer plans.
  • Customer experience with a proven ability to deliver successful solutions that cover head office, showrooms and projects and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop long‑term, effective and influential business relationships with key decision makers that drive mutual growth.
  • Ability to assess needs, propose mutually beneficial solutions, overcome objections, demonstrate resilience, and manage conflict with a positive & confident mindset and close sale to maximize mutual value.
  • Experience in developing and managing a budget.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.

Location
  • Canada – home office based; GTA area preferred.
  • Ability to travel within Canada up to 50% of the time and some US travel.
