Responsibilities
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
  • Create new recipes and plan menus to meet quality standards
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, weddings and special functions
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Consult with clients regarding event requirements and menus
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Qualifications
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
