A healthcare provider in Fife is seeking a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to manage ADHD and mental health services. The role involves working with patients of all ages, providing independent prescribing, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe medication use. A strong commitment to patient care and the ability to travel across Fife are essential. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
Split between 0.6 WTE mental health and 0.4 WTE ADHD to account for flexible working and part-time working – Fixed term / Secondment for 10-12 months. NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate has an opportunity for a fixed term/secondment for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in ADHD and Mental Health services.
This role provides a unique opportunity to manage a caseload of patients (children, adolescents and adults) with ADHD and a variety of mental health conditions, ideally working as an independent prescriber, to provide support and advice to patients, carers /families and multidisciplinary teams. You will showcase your pharmacy expertise in safety of prescribing, administration and governance of medicines, and will be accountable to the senior ADHD pharmacist in developing the ADHD services in Fife. In shaping the development of pharmaceutical care for both under-18s and over-18s ADHD services, you will work closely with the ADHD multidisciplinary team and provide specialist pharmacy advice to ensure safe, appropriate and clinically effective use of medicines in line with national guidance. You will also work across a range of specialist mental health teams, and cross-sector colleagues: including primary care and community pharmacies, in providing patient-centred and seamless care.
You will be based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, with travel across Fife as necessary. The post covers ADHD and Mental Health services across Fife. You will provide supervision to Foundation pharmacists and be supported by the lead pharmacists. The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Service serves approximately 380,000 people with a team of around 300 staff and operates across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services and other specialist teams.
