A leading technology company in Toronto seeks a Software Development Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers. This role involves solving complex technology problems within an agile environment while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable products globally. What products will Amazon customer want, and how quickly will they want them? Are we investing enough in our infrastructure, or too much? How do our customers react to changes in prices, product selection, or delivery times? These are among the most important questions at Amazon today. The ASIN Forecasting team in the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization is dedicated to answering these questions using statistical methods. We develop advanced data pipelines, build accurate predictive models, and deploy automated software solutions to provide forecasting insights to business leaders at the most senior levels throughout the company. We're looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team.
As a leader in the team, you will be tasked with solving complex technology problems in a fast-paced agile environment, constantly learning and adapting to rapidly evolving customer needs. You will grow a team of talented and experienced engineers to manage the ever growing infrastructure that powers our forecasting models and products.
In this role you will work closely with stakeholders, software engineers and product teams to deliver high quality, scalable products deployed around the world. You will collaborate with the product teams to deliver the best product with most efficient use of resources and technologies. You will work with all the stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting project milestones. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
