Key job responsibilities
  • Responsible for technical design and delivery of software components.
  • Work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze technical options, and propose solutions with proof of concept.
  • Translate proposals into technical design, coordinate development effort with other SDEs, test, and deliver features in production.
  • Perform code reviews for peer engineers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions are logical, testable, maintainable, and efficient.
  • Drive engineering best practices for continuous process improvements in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon, you will work on real‑world problems on a global scale, own your systems end to end, and influence the direction of technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. You will design, implement, and test highly scalable solutions using the AWS cloud platform and its many products in a small, rapid‑growth organization.

About the team

At AWS FinTech, we automate the transformation of financial data into actionable insights for the AWS Finance teams. Our full‑stack applications capture data, integrate with multiple financial systems and data warehouses, and use machine learning to extract insights that help AWS make informed business decisions.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non‑internship experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Amazon’s total compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) and is based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well‑being.
