A regional health authority in British Columbia is seeking a dedicated Social Worker for Residential Services. This role involves facilitating admissions, providing counseling to residents and families, and maintaining comprehensive records. The ideal candidate will have a Baccalaureate degree in Social Work and experience in elderly care, alongside effective communication and organizational skills. This position plays a crucial part in the interdisciplinary team, emphasizing advocacy and quality improvement initiatives.
Reporting administratively to the Manager, Clinical Services and clinically to the Professional Practice Chief, Social Work, the Social Worker, Residential Services uses professional and program standards in providing psycho-social assessment, crisis intervention counselling and specific resident treatment, as well as assisting with tasks that are a cross-responsibility of all team members.
Education and Experience
Baccalaureate degree from an approved school of Social Work. One year’s recent related experience working with the elderly in residential settings.
Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
