Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must complete mandatory entry level drinking water operator course within 3 years of hire.
  • Must possess Class I Water Operator Certificate and Class I Wastewater Operator Licence within 5 years.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair on the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Operate necessary equipment including trucks and power tools.
  • Complete reporting duties including time cards and equipment defects.

Skills

Understanding of water distribution and wastewater collection maps
Mechanical aptitude
Reporting on WD/WWC systems conditions
Reliability and performing routine work independently
Tactfulness and courtesy with the public

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid passing grade on Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Operator exam

Class 'D' Ontario Drivers Licence
