Overview
We are hiring a Site Superintendent on behalf of one of our clients — a highly respected General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering residential and mixed-use projects across Canada. This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing site activities end-to-end, and is committed to building with quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Program.
- Direct and manage site teams to construct projects in line with contracts, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor progress, maintain schedules, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Oversee quality control to make sure work meets or exceeds established standards.
- Manage site costs and support procurement processes in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to keep work efficient, professional, and aligned with project goals.
- Supervise and motivate assistants, hourly staff, and equipment resources for maximum productivity.
- Administer site documentation and reporting systems in a professional, organized manner.
- Review scopes of work and identify any discrepancies to the project manager.
- Inspect work regularly to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent (or similar role) in residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and building processes.
- At least 10 years of construction experience, ideally on mid- to high-rise residential projects.
- A relevant degree, diploma, or trade certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field (Red Seal Certification is an asset).
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
