Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is hiring an experienced Shipper/Receiver to start immediately. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of the Fort McKay Incubator Park on a 7 on, 7 off schedule, 12-hour days. Job Summary

The Shipper and Receiver will perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment. Manage verification, acceptance, counting, and inputting into our ERP system of all incoming goods and their condition.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Physical lifting required
  • Ship and receive all parts and materials as required
  • Update status of inbound and outbound orders in ERP system
  • Contact carrier representative to ship material when required
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and communicate any discrepancies
  • Maintain inventory of incoming, stored, and outgoing goods
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in the warehouse and external storage
  • Document all movement of parts/materials using appropriate paperwork
  • Pick and bill out parts to proper service work orders in a timely manner
  • Safely operate forklift and pallet jack
  • Know and abide by safe storage and handling procedures (WHMIS)
  • Cross-train in and provide back-up support to other areas in department
  • Strong communication, analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Be available for year end inventory. December 27th to December 31st
  • Other duties as assigned and assist maintenance team as required
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum 3 years of similar industry warehouse shipping/receiving experience
  • Knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packages
  • Must be computer proficient using MS office, online shipping websites and ERP software
  • High attention to detail essential with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high pace environment
  • A valid forklift license and the ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up-to 50lb
  • High attention to company's health & safety policy
  • Ability to multitask and assist maintenance team when required
  • Able to speak and write clear, fluent English.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment test which includes Drug and alcohol test and Physical demands test.
