Job Description We're looking for a leader that is a safety-minded, progressive thinker that has experience managing a team in a fast-paced, high volume production environment with some automation. CHEP is upskilling our supply chain operations across the Canadian network and skills in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, operational efficiency, people development, change management and of course, safety. Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead and be accountable for the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring strict adherence to corporate and legislative requirements.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of safety performance, aligned with Brambles’ Zero Harm initiative, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • In collaboration with the maintenance team oversee equipment reliability across the site ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with all task-specific responsibilities outlined in CHEP procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols, maintaining operational consistency.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement processes to optimize plant performance in areas such as safety, quality, and cost control.
  • Maintain site security and ensure compliance with service center requirements, including managing storage, stock levels, and movement of materials and equipment.
  • Manage, lead, and develop plant staff, fostering accountability and ensuring that all team members meet or exceed performance expectations as outlined in job descriptions and agreements.
  • Ensure that customer expectations, both internal and external, are consistently met or exceeded through effective management of plant operations.

What You Will Do:

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Directs site and regional efforts to achieve a safe work environment for all employees: Zero Harm

  • Manage short term / long term strategies for the Service Centre’s, ensuring cost initiatives are delivered, budgets are met, and conditioning capacity growth is planned in line with customer demand

  • Ensure adherence to conditioning plans at Service Centre’s on weekly & monthly basis, monitor Plant stocks and maximize utilisation of plant capacity to ensure customer demand is met

  • Manages the performance for all sites within the scope and executes all strategies to drive efficiency

  • Accountable for site budget and financial performance

  • Drive LEAN culture and oversees implementation of procedures and systems to improve quality, service and efficiency within the network.

  • Ensure the completion of the Quality, In Transit, and Operations Excellence audit processes within the team and the regional 3PL Network.

  • Investigate and facilitate corrective action based on quality or service incidents within the regional network failures.

  • Leads and mentors front line leaders to create a strong succession plan

Experience

Responsabilités principales:

  • Diriger les efforts du site et de la région pour atteindre un environnement de travail sécuritaire pour tous les employés : Objectif Zéro Accident

  • Gérer les stratégies à court et long terme pour les centres de service, en veillant à ce que les initiatives de réduction des coûts soient mises en œuvre, que les budgets soient respectés et que la croissance de la capacité de conditionnement soit planifiée selon la demande client

  • Assurer le respect des plans de conditionnement dans les centres de service sur une base hebdomadaire et mensuelle, surveiller les stocks de l’usine et maximiser l’utilisation de la capacité pour répondre à la demande

  • Gérer la performance de tous les sites sous sa responsabilité et mettre en œuvre les stratégies pour améliorer l’efficacité

  • Responsable du budget du site et de la performance financière

  • Promouvoir la culture LEAN et superviser la mise en œuvre des procédures et systèmes pour améliorer la qualité, le service et l’efficacité dans le réseau

  • Assurer la réalisation des audits Qualité, En Transit et Excellence Opérationnelle au sein de l’équipe et du réseau régional de 3PL

  • Enquêter et faciliter les actions correctives suite à des incidents de qualité ou de service dans le réseau régional

  • Encadrer et accompagner les leaders de première ligne pour établir un solide plan de relève

Ce que vous apporterez:

Expérience:

  • 7 à 10 ans d’expérience en fabrication, entrepôt ou distribution avec une capacité avérée en gestion

  • Expérience dans un rôle de gestion de la fabrication ou de la chaîne d’approvisionnement

  • Expérience pratique dans un environnement de biens de consommation courante (FMCG) est un atout

  • Expérience en gestion de projet essentielle

Compétences et connaissances:

  • Connaissance des lois du travail canadiennes

  • Expérience en amélioration continue (Lean, Six Sigma, programmes de sécurité et de qualité)
