Opportunity

We are seeking a strong, dynamic, and talented individual to join our team of professionals in the capacity of Senior Technology Specialist, Quality. This role brings testing expertise in both manual and automated testing to ensure our applications meet functional, performance, and coding standards.

Work Arrangements

This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimize new/existing automation frameworks.
  • Create and execute Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases.
  • Perform automated and manual testing.
  • Lead/Assist with test analysis and participate in technical analysis meetings.
  • Identify and document defects until resolution.
  • Communicate and explain defects to team members and assist team in bug fixes.
  • Provide technical guidance to peers and/or end-users regarding technologies that enable continuous delivery of shared solutions.
  • Assist in the maintenance of existing internal processes and quality system management documentation to uphold quality standards.
  • Inspect systems and processes to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and enhanced efficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, college diploma, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with software testing practices such as test planning, test execution, and defect tracking.
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation.
  • Sound knowledge of QA practices, tools, methodology, and processes.
  • Relevant experience with testing tools such as Azure DevOps and automation tools such as Selenium, N-Unit, JMeter, TestComplete, Ready API, etc.
  • Experience with Test Management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of web service testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman.
  • Strong knowledge of C# and JavaScript; knowledge of React libraries preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Experience with XML file manipulation and SQL.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, proactive, and collaborative.
  • Awareness and understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Experience in Agile and knowledge of CI/CD.
  • Having or working toward QA certification considered an asset.
