Job description
Overview

Based in either Toronto or Montreal, the Senior Tax Manager at Indero would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This includes managing direct and indirect taxes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising senior leadership on tax implications of business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement global tax strategies aligned with Indero’s business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial / state, and international tax regulations.
  • Lead the preparation and review of corporate tax filings and reports in all legal entities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Lead tax planning and audits, in collaboration with Senior Director of Finance, Legal, and external advisors.
  • Lead the preparation of federal and provincial R&D / RS&DE filings.
  • Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation.
  • Support M&A activities and cross-border transactions from a tax perspective.
  • Provide strategic tax advice to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Review employee tax obligations and identify strategies to maximize individual tax savings, ensuring compliance with current tax laws.
Education
  • CPA or equivalent professional designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Taxation (master’s preferred).
Experience
  • Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, ideally in a multinational or CRO environment.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax laws and indirect taxes (VAT, GST).
Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

The successful candidate may work from Montreal or Toronto, Canada, or from our headquarters in Montreal, in accordance with company policies and public health directives. Occasional visits to the Montreal headquarters may be required or encouraged.
