We're hiring aSenior Accountant, Tax on behalf of a mid-sized public accounting firm inVancouver, BC. This role is well suited for a CPA (or recent CFE writer) with public practice experience who is looking to continue building their career in tax within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Our client is a well-established public practice firm with offices across Western Canada. The Vancouver team provides audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base including private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals. The firm offers hands-on mentorship, exposure to a variety of industries, and long-term career development opportunities.

The Role

Reporting to Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners, this position involves preparing and reviewing personal, corporate, and trust tax returns, supporting CRA matters, and assisting with client engagements across multiple industries. You'll work closely with both clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely tax services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review personal, corporate, and trust tax returns
  • Prepare GST, T4, and T5 filings
  • Support CRA audits, reviews, and client correspondence
  • Prepare working papers and financial statements in accordance with firm standards
  • Assist with completion of tax engagements under management supervision
  • Respond to client and staff questions related to tax and accounting matters
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships
The Requirements
  • CPA designation or recent CFE writer
  • 2-3 years of public practice experience
  • Willingness to enroll in CPA In-Depth Tax and GST/HST programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxPrep considered an asset
