Overview

Carta connects founders, investors, and limited partners through software built for the venture capital and private markets spaces. Carta’s Fund Administration platform supports thousands of funds and SPVs and is shaping the private market infrastructure with an end-to-end ERP approach for private funds.

As a Senior Engineer, you will build and shape our product for Private Equity clients, improve operational efficiency, and create new features while leveraging standardized solutions. You will collaborate with business and engineering teams to navigate a complex product space that spans domains including Cap Table Management, Fund administration, and related teams.

The Team You'll Work With

The Unified Experience for PE team helps private equity firms easily see and manage their portfolio companies by creating connected and user-friendly tools. The team focuses on creating a unified experience for investors, including detailed views for PE-backed LLCs.

Key problem areas include:

• Fragmented experience - The platform lacks unified dashboards for all investment entities, especially PE-backed LLCs, making portfolio overviews difficult.
• Missing Valuations and Insights - Valuations and other key information are not easily accessible for PE-backed LLCs and FA issuers, limiting transparency.
• Cumbersome Entry to Key Products - No streamlined access to essential tools from portfolio views.
• Disconnected Platform Workflows - Data and workflows across investments, valuation, and reporting aren’t well integrated.

About You

You are user-focused, collaborate effectively, and enjoy solving enterprise-grade problems. You can navigate between Solver and Tech Lead archetypes and meet the following:

• 5+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience architecting complex SaaS products with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices.
• Interest in our tech stack (ReactJS, TypeScript, React Queries, Storybook, Amplitude, Ink).
• Ability to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing.
• Interest in AI/ML technologies to enhance product experiences.
• A desire to become a product domain expert and refine ambiguous requirements to deliver customer value.
• Strong communication skills and a drive to own work end-to-end.
• Ability to move fast while planning for the future.
