A leading insurance company in Toronto seeks an experienced underwriter to join its Central and Eastern Canada Property team. This position involves managing large corporate risks and building relationships with brokers and clients. The ideal candidate will have property underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and relevant professional designations. Candidates with a university degree in business or finance and fluency in English are preferred. The role fosters an inclusive working environment and encourages professional development.
We are looking for an underwriter to join the Central and Eastern Canada Property team and contribute to our sustainable growth and profitability. You will be based in Toronto and be part of a team of experienced Underwriters supporting the General Property business in Canada, reporting to and working closely with the Head of Property Canada.
The position offers you the opportunity to develop key broker and client relationships, focusing on large corporate and mid‑market risk segments including international structured placements.
Beyond your core underwriting responsibilities, you will also contribute to cross‑functional initiatives, support strategic projects, and help shape the direction of the Canadian Property business. You will provide property underwriting expertise to our clients and ensure compliance with Swiss Re underwriting guidelines.
