Overview

As a Senior Property and Casualty Insurance Advisor for La Personnelle / The Personal group insurance, you help the business line pursue profitable growth by working on initiatives related to property and casualty insurance. You also play an advisory role for the LaPersonnelle / ThePersonal business development teams. You take a leadership role with stakeholders on files and projects connected to complex, innovative initiatives. The nature of the files requires actuarial and financial knowledge and a solid understanding of property and casualty insurance. You also need to be comfortable developing tools to carry out, facilitate and optimize your work. You make recommendations on the development and execution of complex projects and initiatives. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor in your field and as a resource person and coach for your colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Actively promote and participate in profitable growth initiatives with the account management and business development teams, as well as other teams involved in the growth strategy.

  • Monitor the growth and profitability of individual groups and the entire business sector.

  • Oversee development and manage “recovery plans” for groups with less satisfactory profitable growth. Diagnose issues and make recommendations.

  • Drive profitable growth by actively participating in defining the sector’s business objectives.

  • Advise and support your clients to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives under your responsibility.

  • Participate as a coach in team development.

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or a related field

  • A minimum of six years of experience in actuarial services or finance

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Advanced proficiency of English and French due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Property and casualty insurance expertise

  • AI expertise

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of PowerBI and ParaQuery tools
