The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering large-scale digital infrastructure and technology initiatives in support of provincial healthcare services. This role requires deep experience managing complex network, telecom, and digital health technology deployments within healthcare or acute care environments. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in project governance, change management, and IT service delivery transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of large-scale digital and infrastructure projects within a healthcare environment
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and status reports
Manage projects involving:
- Enterprise WiFi deployments (500+ access points)
- WAN and LAN implementations
- Network infrastructure supporting hospitals and acute care facilities
- Organization-wide telecom and VoIP solutions
- Citrix deployments
- Decision Support Systems (DSS), including Cognos
- Develop business cases and project plans supporting IT service delivery transformation initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders across clinical, technical, and operational groups
- Apply formal project management and change management methodologies to ensure successful adoption and delivery
- Ensure alignment with healthcare privacy, security, and governance standards
- Provide regular project updates to leadership, steering committees, and stakeholders
Mandatory Certifications
- The successful candidate must possess the following valid certifications. Proof must be provided:
- Prosci Change Management Certification (ADKAR)
- PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner Certification
- ITIL (IT Service Management) Certification
Education
- Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Copies of degrees or certifications must be provided with the submission
Required Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following experience:
- 15+ years as a Project Manager leading large-scale WiFi deployments (500+ access points), with at least three examples totaling 15 years
- 10+ years managing WAN and LAN planning and implementations, with at least three examples totaling 10 years
- 5+ years managing Decision Support System (DSS) implementations using Cognos, with at least two examples totaling 5 years
- 5+ years overseeing network infrastructure deployments supporting acute care facilities or hospitals, with at least two examples totaling 5 years
- 5+ years leading organization-wide telecom and VoIP implementations, with at least one example totaling 5 years
- 5+ years developing business cases and project plans supporting IT service delivery transformation (e.g., telecom, workstations, network connectivity), with at least two examples totaling 5 years
- 5+ years directly managing Citrix deployments, with at least one example totaling 5 years
