Job description

Senior Project Manager, to join our Transportation Systems, Aviation team, and could potentially be based in one of a number of WSP offices in Canada.

You will have experience and existing relationships within the Canadian Aviation industry, and skilled at pursuing, winning and delivering signature projects within Canada and internationally.

This is an opportunity to mentor a team of engineers and designers in the delivery of complex airside projects. You will act as a role model in proactively inspiring your team to be responsive, reliable and collaborative team players.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Be accountable to ensure all construction project management activities are successfully executed;
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary conceptual, functional and detailed designs and teams; specifications, quantity and cost estimates;
  • Implement and oversee project quality control and quality assurance;
  • Liaise with clients and the project team;
  • Assist with resolution of issues, ensure timely responses and recommendations for all issues encountered during the project;
  • Review project schedules for activities, milestones, and critical path;
  • Assist with preparing proposals, project cost estimates, and budgeting;
  • Prepare and review drawings and presentation materials;
  • Perform all other tasks that will help accomplish successful delivery of the project;
  • Establish and maintain project budget;
  • Enforce change procedures;
  • Manage client and vendor relationships;
  • Ensure project risks and issues are logged and managed;
  • Ensure all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner;
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins;
  • Other duties as assigned/required.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited university;
  • Registered Professional Engineer in a Canadian province;
  • Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in Canada or demonstrated international experience;
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience;
  • Runway and pavement design experience is an asset; ideal candidates will have a strong mix of airside rehabilitation projects and greenfield airport or runway projects;
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations, and standards;
  • Navigational aid system planning, and design would be an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiastic team player;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required;
  • Strong MS Office skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to prepare scheduling complex projects/programs;
    Strategic, conceptual, collaborative thinking and verdict-making skills;
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadlines;
  • Ability to travel to project/client sites and conduct project work remotely;
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn;
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and research skills, and;
  • Be flexible and have the ability to work on multiple projects of varied complexity with minimal supervision.
Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $113,500 - $156,000

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
