Clark Builders is hiring a Senior Project Manager. Working out of the Calgary office, the Senior Project Manager will lead and support projects across all our regions of work. This role is highly accountable and responsible for all aspects associated with the successful execution and delivery of our projects safely, within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You must have the highest respect for people, lead the implementation of measurable lean practices, and demonstrate a proven track record of achieving successful project delivery under specified conditions of satisfaction.


Reporting to: Director, Operations or Project Executive

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, build, and develop operations talent and cultural management, supporting Clark Builders as the best place to learn, work, and thrive.
  2. Ensure operational standards and processes are achieved, maintaining operational efficiency, consistency, and excellence.
  3. Provide elevated client care and services to ensure maximum value to clients.
  4. Develop strategies to deliver and drive results on project performance goals and satisfaction conditions.
  5. Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and a lean culture through best practices, training, and staff development.
  6. Oversee all aspects of project startup, including finalizing prime contracts, conducting startup meetings, preparing project execution plans, resource and staffing plans, and procurement management.
  7. Collaborate with estimating and business development teams to pursue and secure new work.
  8. Manage all aspects of financial strategy.
  9. Manage safety, quality control, and communication plans.
  10. Create and manage project schedules.
  11. Chair meetings, issue minutes, and follow up on action items.
  12. Track productivity and project performance.
  13. Manage stakeholder expectations.
  14. Oversee project closeout, including training, inspections, turnover, and warranty processes.
  15. Support business development by maintaining long-term relationships with clients, design professionals, engineers, and organizations to foster future opportunities.
  16. Coach, mentor, and develop diverse teams, creating growth opportunities aligned with individual and corporate goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a construction-related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing construction projects, including commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings.
  • Experience with various construction contracts.
  • Proven track record managing the entire construction process from startup to closeout on diverse project sizes and complexities.
  • Understanding of Lean principles, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Last Planner System and Procore software is an asset.
