This role is crucial for maintaining strong financial governance, accurate forecasting, and alignment with funding and gated approval processes. The analyst will collaborate closely with project managers, the PMO, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure high-quality cost performance and reporting.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Lead cost control activities for infrastructure projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates and support change control processes.
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and change management.
  • Monitor project performance against forecasts and produce reports for project leadership.
  • Ensure approved funding for expenditures and the accurate recording of all project costs.
  • Define, develop, and document multiple dependent or independent budgets.
  • Approve changes to baseline estimates and forecasted performance.
  • Identify and resolve deviations from the plan, including potential future impacts.
  • Plan staffing and project hours to ensure resource alignment.
  • Conduct periodic reevaluations of scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Evaluate total project cost status and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Manage client expectations and coach others in effective negotiation.
  • Lead and mentor junior and intermediate cost controllers.
  • Support the development of cost control systems, tools, and procedures.
  • Keep track of change logs and supervise the change order process.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled within assigned budgets.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in cost control, including at least 5 years working on a large regulatory infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with InEight, PowerBI, and Primavera P6 is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading teams.
  • Motivated self‑starter with sharp attention to detail and a team‑oriented approach.
