Personal Injury Law Clerk — Salary Based Upon Experience
Responsibilities
- Draft/prepare and complete all necessary litigation documentation such as claims, defenses, motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, etc. in Superior Court and Small Claims Court, Court of Appeal
- Scheduling mediations, examinations, motions, pre-trials and trial dates, amongst other scheduling tasks
- Familiarity with Online Submissions Portal and Caselines
- Awareness of processes and deadlines for serving and filing court documents
- Ensuring all filing is organized and up to date on a daily basis, both physical and electronic
- Handle administrative details with respect to calendar and task management, client meetings, accounting, closing files and docketing
- Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years experience as in personal injury law
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe DC Pro and PCLaw
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment with a strong work ethic
- Demonstrate good judgment and utmost professionalism at all times and particularly when working under pressure
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
