Overview

Personal Injury Law Clerk — Salary Based Upon Experience

Responsibilities
  • Draft/prepare and complete all necessary litigation documentation such as claims, defenses, motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, etc. in Superior Court and Small Claims Court, Court of Appeal
  • Scheduling mediations, examinations, motions, pre-trials and trial dates, amongst other scheduling tasks
  • Familiarity with Online Submissions Portal and Caselines
  • Awareness of processes and deadlines for serving and filing court documents
  • Ensuring all filing is organized and up to date on a daily basis, both physical and electronic
  • Handle administrative details with respect to calendar and task management, client meetings, accounting, closing files and docketing
  • Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as in personal injury law
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe DC Pro and PCLaw
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate good judgment and utmost professionalism at all times and particularly when working under pressure
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
