Overview
Senior Network Engineer (Infrastructure & Operations)
Support day-to-day network operations and service delivery while contributing to infrastructure improvements across multiple sites. You will collaborate closely with technical leads and stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure network performance.
What is in it for you
- Salaried: $50-54 per hour.
- Incorporated Business Rate: $55-60 per hour.
- Weekday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm.
- On-site work in a dynamic and casual environment (jeans acceptable).
- Some overtime and on-call support required.
Responsibilities
- Implement operational plans and objectives to enhance network service delivery.
- Support resource and financial planning for the Network team.
- Manage hardware licensing and support contracts.
- Assign and coordinate work within the team; provide mentorship.
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize wired and wireless network infrastructure, including WAN and co-located data centers in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Stettler.
- Provision, configure, and install core and distribution network systems; perform updates and patching.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for network infrastructure, retailer networks, and external connectivity.
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding issues and resolutions.
- Lead patching and updating processes and ensure license compliance.
- Review requirements and specifications; develop architectural designs and proposals with cost analysis.
- Analyze solution requests and provide recommendations in consultation with the Network Team Lead.
- Oversee design, development, and integration of infrastructure-impacting solutions.
- Coordinate with other business units to ensure compatibility and standards compliance.
What you will need to succeed
- University degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering and/or Information Technology diploma or related field.
- Cisco CCNP Certification is an asset.
- 6 years of technical and network experience managing complex IT environments.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus Data Center switches, ASA, Firepower firewalls, routers, and Catalyst switches.
- Familiarity with the following tools is an asset:
- Cisco Identity Services Engine
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points
- BigIP F5 vCMP, LTM, and AFM
- Cisco SD-WAN and SD-Access
- SASE Netskope products
- Experience working for a network provider or telecom company is an asset.
- Experience with co-located data centers is beneficial.
