The macOS Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting enterprise‑grade solutions for managing macOS systems using Workspace One UEM. This role packages, deploys, and troubleshoots both third‑party applications and a full suite of security products, while developing automation scripts and custom tools in Bash, zsh, Python, or Swift. The engineer leads macOS OS lifecycle testing—including beta and GM releases—conducting full‑stack validation and collaborating closely with Apple and Omnissa to resolve issues and influence product direction. The role supports internal application teams, IAM, and Tier 2 support globally, maintaining security compliance workflows, Nudge and onboarding experiences, and Workspace One Intelligence dashboards. Additional responsibilities include evaluating new Apple hardware/software, managing Apple ecosystem services (DEP/ADE, VPP, APNS, certificates), producing high‑quality technical documentation, and coordinating internal macOS early‑adopter groups to support continuous improvement of the platform.

Responsibilities
  • Engineer and manage macOS systems using Workspace One UEM, including creating and maintaining profiles, policies, Bootstrap packages, and configuration workflows.
  • Package, test, deploy, and troubleshoot macOS software, including 3rd party applications and all components of the macOS security stack (Trellix, Tanium, Tenable, CyberArk, etc.).
  • Develop automation and scripting solutions in Bash, zsh, Python (and optionally Swift), including Extension Attributes/Sensors and in house localized tools.
  • Lead macOS operating system testing programs, including beta/GM releases, full stack validation, regression testing, and bug/feedback submissions to Apple.
  • Collaborate with vendors (Apple, Omnissa, etc.), manage support tickets, share logs, influence product roadmaps, and maintain strong external engineering relationships.
  • Evaluate and support Apple hardware and software innovations, advising on macOS trends, new devices, OS transitions, and security compliance requirements.
  • Support internal teams, including application owners, IAM, Tier 2 Mac Support, developers, and macOS end user communities—providing engineering-level guidance and solutions.
  • Manage deployment tools and user experience components, including Nudge configuration, Octory/SplashBuddy/DEPNotify workflows, and Workspace One Intelligence dashboards/automation.
  • Maintain deep expertise in Apple ecosystem services and infrastructure, including DEP/ADE, VPP, APNS, Apple web portals, certificates, and managed Apple IDs.
  • Document engineering processes and lead internal programs, such as beta tester groups, technical documentation, and global macOS support standards—ensuring consistent and secure macOS operations.
