Senior Mechanical Integrity

About the role

The Mechanical Integrity Engineer manages the non-rotating asset strategies for the site, including non-capital mechanical integrity fit for service evaluations and remediation or repair work where required.

What will you do?

  • The Mechanical Integrity Engineer manages the non-rotating asset strategies for the site, including non-capital mechanical integrity fit for service evaluations and remediation or repair work where required. They ensure that the assets are in a safe to operate condition and that the history of repairs and inspections of assets is properly documented. They work with the Mechanical Integrity Program Coordinator to operate the Risk Based Inspection program and are responsible for reviewing inspection reports, completing non-conformance reports and communicating asset health to site leadership. The engineer will be responsible to support site maintenance to manage the CMI backlog and working with Capital and Maintenance engineering in the development of corrective action plans for program assets.
  • Manage and execute non-capital mechanical and structural integrity related projects and inspections (internal and 3rd party). This includes maintaining proper documentation for this work and evaluating risk based on inspection data and repair progress.
  • Collaborate with Sustaining Capital, MI structural Engineering, MI inspectors to identify equipment in need of capital repair/replacement. Maintain the site's Asset Health Register and create intake requests on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide recommendations to planners, coordinators, and other engineers on metallurgy and coatings-related queries. Perform or manage fit for service evaluations and reporting. Develop repair plans and asset strategies.
  • Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives, training, and safety improvements. Providing assistance and training to other work groups with regards to coating, inspection, and welding. Acts as resource for other groups for interpretation of codes and standards such as API, ASME, National Building Code, HSWDG, Etc. Participate in, coaching, training, and career development efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree required, major in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering

Engineer I

  • 0-2 years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management

Engineer II

  • 2+ years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management

Engineer III

  • 4+ years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management

Engineer Sr

  • 8+ years or more of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
